University of Pittsburgh at Bradford
The 54,000 square foot Blaisdell Communications, Art & Technology Building features the 500-seat Bromeley Family Theater complete with rehearsal and auxiliary spaces. Both the auditorium and stage can be separated by a solid partition for two non-simultaneous performances. The building also includes drawing and painting studios, an art gallery and reception room. Wide corridors and lighting pipes throughout building were designed for displaying artwork. Since sound separation was critical between the television studio, music rehearsal room and several practice rooms, double-wall construction and acoustic doors were used. HVAC sound dampening was achieved with low air flow, duct attenuation, and resilient mounts for equipment.
