Sts. Louis & Elizabeth Residence Hall

Franciscan University of Steubenville

Sts. Louis and Elizabeth Halls, the first new living spaces constructed on the main campus of Franciscan University of Steubenville in nearly 10 years. The Hall houses men and women in separate wings while promoting community interaction in the various common spaces that link the wings together. The 47,000 sq. ft., 180-bed, three-story brick structure features separate wings for men and women Each wing provides students with private study rooms, laundry facilities, lounge space and a “common” where “household” can gather for discussion, Bible study, prayer or for family-style entertainment. Male students reside in St. Louis Hall, while St. Elizabeth Hall houses women. Between the two halls, a main entry connector wing provides common, mixed gender spaces such as a large living room with fire place, kitchen, dining room and group study spaces. Also located in the connector wing are a 50-seat chapel and open stair which helps the three floors feel connected. This promotes interaction between students who live on different floors.
