Nordenberg Hall

UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH

Housing freshman men and women, the 560-bed, mixed-use facility retains commercial space on the first floor; houses the University Wellness Center on the second floor; and is topped with eight residence halls. The design establishes residential communities of 30 students, sharing common lounges, studies and restroom facilities. MCF was responsible for the design of the campus-wide Wellness Center and was the associate architect for Mackey Mitchell Architects of St. Louis, MO, the acting architect of record.

Neighborhood

CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY

A mixed use of residential and commercial buildings blended into the urban fabric, was proposed for the North Campus Neighborhood at Cleveland State University. The new development was aimed to turn existing commuter parking lots into a vibrant residential area for students, teachers and the City of Cleveland.  Made up of three city blocks, the mixed-use community was to include private residences, a baseball field, multiple parking garages, and approximately 40,000 square feet of retail, which would be closely linked with the University.
